As a genealogist I have always envied those who discovered journals written by their ancestors. I so wanted to find something similar in my family. There are no existing journals yet but I have a letter handwritten by my grandfather Willis Elery McKay living in Ohio to his first family in Kentucky that I now cherish. It was given to me by Barbara McKay Hallum. I have signatures of other family members from legal documents that I likewise admire.
Several years ago I began writing "A Collage of Memories". I now plan to enter what was written then and expound on these memories even further in this blog. Perhaps my descendants will likewise cherish these personal writings of mine some day in the future. A family has to begin somewhere!
